The arrest followed a report made by a male individual to the Jasper Police Department. He reported an incident of strangulation, alleging that his mother had strangled and assaulted him at their residence earlier that evening. Jasper Police responded to the scene and, after an investigation, concluded that Jessica had indeed battered and attempted to strangle her son.
Jessica Preston is currently in custody at the Dubois County Security Center on the mentioned charges.
