Celebrating the life of Sharon Ruth Gill
Sharon Ruth (Englehart) Gill, 86, was born on March 15, 1937 in Washington, IN and passed away on October 18th, 2023 in Tempe, Arizona at Brookdale Assisted Living. Sherry grew up in Washington, IN and graduated from Plainville High School as class valedictorian, after which she went to beauty school and became a hairdresser. Sherry dedicated her life to her husband, Jack, and children, Yancy and Carrie, who traveled constantly and very often across the globe for Jack’s mining job. Some of the cities they lived in are Washington, IN, Socorro, NM, Ray, AZ, Eagle Mountain, CA, Toquepala, Peru, Birmingham, AL,
Johannesburg, South Africa, Van Horn, TX, and finally, Tempe, AZ. Sherry is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gilliatt Gill, to whom she was married to for 64 years. She is also preceded in death by her younger brothers James “Jim” Richard Englehart and Robert Alan Englehart, and her parents Richard Englehart and Margaret Taylor
Englehart. Sherry is survived in life by her loving, dedicated children, Yancy Lee Gill (wife, Sarah Gill; son, Matthew James Gill; step-grandchildren, Caroline Smith Reynolds and family, Hannah Smith Scharlau and family, Reid Smith and family) and Carrie Gill Murdoch (husband, Bruce Jamison Murdoch; daughter, Haley Claire Murdoch). She is also survived by
many extended family members who have contributed to Sherry’s fulfilling life.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:30 until 11:00 at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home with a service immediately following also at the funeral home.
