Washington, IN – This month, a Washington Police Department detective received information from the Indiana Department of Child Services regarding a sexual assault investigation involving a minor. Following an extensive investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Alexander Korthaus of Jasper. Korthaus faced multiple charges, including child molesting (2 counts), sexual misconduct with a minor, and child exploitation. On November 1, the Washington Police Department detective, along with 1st shift patrol officers, apprehended Korthaus without incident. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, DCS, and the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Coalition provided assistance throughout the investigation and arrest.
