James Merlin “Jimmy Jett” Jones, 78, passed away peacefully at 8:54 pm on November 17, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jimmy was born on September 4, 1945, in Vincennes, IN. and he is the son of Ernest Elmer and Mary Ann (Summers) Jones.
He worked at KCARC until his retirement and enjoyed being around his family. You always could find Jimmy riding his bike throughout the city of Vincennes and he loved operating chainsaws and cutting down trees. He also loved animals of all kinds.
Survivors include his family, Rick and Kathy Beaman of Vincennes, Ray Broadus, Nichole Foote and her husband Dwight, Ricky Beaman and his wife Jenni and many other extended family members who Jimmy was very fond of. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Nancy.
Friends may visit with Jimmy’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. John Stidham will officiate, and Jimmy will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Jimmy’s family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Vincennes Pet Port, 1128 River Road, Vincennes, IN 47591 because Jimmy was so fond of animals.
