Washington Fire crews were busy with an early morning fire yesterday at 1509 Jackson Street on the city’s west side. According to Fire Chief Steve Walden, firemen were dispatched just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning. No one was home at the time of the blaze. Washington firemen and off-duty officers were called in, and Washington Township assisted. It is believed the home will be a total loss. The State Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause. Fire crews were on the scene for over four hours yesterday.
