Bonita Fern (Kerns) Johnson, 90, of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at East Gate Manor, Washington.
Born August 19, 1933, in Cuzco, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and Lizzie (Noble) Kerns.
She married Donald Johnson on July 15, 1952, in French Lick, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2011.
Bonita was a graduate of French Lick High School and worked as a factory worker and housekeeper for many years.
She was a member of the Crystal Community Church and the Rusk Homemakers Club.
Surviving are her children, Rick (Inger) Johnson and Donna Sue Johnson, both of Shoals; two grandsons, Jeremiah (Andrea) Johnson and Scott Johnson, of Shoals; great-grandson, Jett Johnson; siblings, Mary Lou (Harold) Walters and Amon (Becky) Kerns; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and siblings, Ed Kerns, Mildred Warner, Georgia Bird, Riley Kerns, and Virginia Smith.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
