Petersburg – On Sunday afternoon, five fire departments responded to a house fire north of Petersburg.
According to fire officials, the call came in just after 4 p.m. regarding a fire at 1704 County Road 225 East, near Anderson Chapel Church and off Highway 57.
The house, owned by Steve Freeland and rented by a family with several children, was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
However, there were pets inside the house during the blaze.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
