Shana L. Wiggins, age 52, a spirited and cherished member of the Washington, Indiana community, and a beloved mother and grandmother, departed this life on Friday, July 5, 2024, leaving a legacy of love and laughter. Born on April 9, 1972, in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Raymond Wiggins, Jr. and Darla Ricer-Wiggins, Shana spent her childhood enveloped in the warmth of a large and caring family.
Shana’s life was a testament to her strength, hard work, and passion. Embracing the simple pleasures of life, she was renowned for her culinary skills as a dedicated cook, which brought comfort and joy to many. Shana’s love for singing karaoke resonated through the hearts of all who had the pleasure of hearing her voice, while her happiest moments were spent playing with her grandchildren each laugh and smile a cherished note in the melody of her life.
A beacon of faith, Shana attended services at the First Baptist Church, where she found solace and fellowship. Her spirit, characterized by grace and compassion, will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Shana’s beautiful life will forever be etched in the memories of her family. Preceded in death by her beloved child Cheyenne Walktona Sipes, she is survived by her five children, Ashley Woodyard, Brittiany (Eric) Stoll, Sierra (David) Labate, Rachel Moore, and Raymond (Kyrah) Purcell; and 15 grandchildren, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
She leaves behind her adoring siblings Hazel Brant, Telenia Groce, Dottie Andrews, and Freddie Shuggars; uncles Freddie and Kim Ricer; and aunt Karen Ricer.
Shana’s passing marks the end of an era of warmth and generosity. She will be dearly missed, yet fondly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
There will be a visitation, Friday, July 12, 2024, at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home in Washington, Indiana from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a service immediately following also at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Baxter officiating.
