Saundra Faye Young

Saundra F. (Edwards) Young, 76, of Shoals, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at her residence.
Born October 3, 1947, in Monticello, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Frank “Jack” and Vena (Sharp) Edwards.
Saundra graduated from Monticello High School with the class of 1964 and was a homemaker.
She married Tommy Young on August 15, 1964 and he survives.
Saundra was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Missouri Hollow Baptist Church, Monticello, KY.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored. She loved gardening, canning, and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan.
Surviving are her husband, Tommy, of Shoals; children, Pam (Danny) Doane and Diana (Kirk) Kidwell, both of Shoals; eight grandchildren, DJ (Molly) Tharp, Brian Lee (Jessica) Tharp, Curtis (Vanessa) Kidwell, Latrisha Tharp, Courtney (Lance) McKibben, Kayla Kidwell, Alex Doane, and Brittany Erwin; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Tresa (David) Upchurch; brothers, Dan Edwards and Gary (Debbie) Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Ray, Fred, Bruce, and Dooley Edwards; and sister, Connie Edwards.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care. Burial will follow in Port Williams Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service hour on Tuesday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
