Greene County has been awarded a $3 million federal grant to improve water and wastewater infrastructure. The funding will expand capacity at WestGate @ Crane Technology Park. The grant is part of efforts to aid regions impacted by changes in the coal economy. The project, matched by $3 million in local funds, is expected to create 688 jobs and generate $460 million in private investment. The project is funded through the EDA’s Assistance to Coal Communities, designed to help regions as they transition away from coal.
