Daniel Flaherty, a 42-year-old Patoka man, was arrested and lodged in the Gibson County Jail on Friday, facing a murder charge following the disappearance of his wife, Kayla Flaherty. Daniel reported his wife missing on Thursday, but her body was discovered in Knox County shortly after his arrest. Kayla Flaherty, 36, had filed for divorce in September. The Knox County Coroner’s Office confirmed Kayla Flaherty’s death after her body was found near Wabash River Road on the night of October 4. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death as the investigation continues, with authorities from the Knox County Coroner’s Office, Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, and Indiana State Police working together.
