A Mt. Carmel teen is dead following an officer involved shooting Saturday night in Mt. Carmel. The incident remains under investigation, but police were called to the Marathon Fastbreak Station around 9pm on Saturday. Eyewitnesses reported a 16-year-old male teen was seen verbally and physically abusing his girlfriend, who was also 16 years old. The male allegedly punched her in the stomach. The two then left the station together. Police tracked the vehicle and the two teens at a residence on Lambert Street. When officers arrived, they found the male holding a knife. The 16-year-old male was fatally shot by an officer, and the female received a gunshot wound to the hand. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
