Power was out in the South Knox area for a time last night as authorities responded to a field fire and crash in Verne. Eyewitness reports say a semi tractor trailer attempted to make a turn off Highway 61 to SE Robinson Road when it struck a transformer and electric pole. The driver then attempted to drive through a neighboring bean field and snapped more wire and blew another transformer, which led to a field fire. No names have been released at this time.
