A single-vehicle crash late Monday night claimed the life of Gerald Russell, 73, of Petersburg. Around 11:20 p.m., Indiana State Police and Pike County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident on Cart Road near CR 250 West. Investigators determined that Russell was driving his Honda four-wheeler eastbound when it veered off the road, struck a ditch, and rolled multiple times. The Pike County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene. Russell’s family has been notified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
