Portia Ann (Johnson) Martin

Portia Ann Martin, 88, of French Lick, formerly of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
Born October 9, 1936 in Washington, she was the daughter of Beatrice Ellen Johnson.
Portia married Paul Henry Martin Sr on May 12, 1958 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2012.
She attended Washington High School and worked as a housekeeper at French Lick Springs Resort for over 35 years. She was a member of Red Quarry Christian Church.
Portia enjoyed building puzzles, crossword puzzles, word searches, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Sharon Santore, Diana (Keith) Levi, Tammy Beyers, Rita (Ryan) Kays, Paula Hamilton, Paul (Tina) Martin Jr, Michael Jackson-Wilhelmus, and Connie Russell ; fifteen grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice; husband, Paul; daughters, Lisa Jane Martin and Debra Keim; son, Daniel Dale Russell; and one sister, Patricia Joyce.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Joe Crow officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until the service hour on Friday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
