World Series
For the second time in five seasons and the first time in a full season since 1988, the Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions. It took a big comeback in Game 5 to get them there. Entering with a 3-1 series lead but perhaps more than a few nerves after a rough loss to the New York Yankees in Game 4, the Dodgers fell behind 5-0 before a chaotic comeback put the Commissioner’s Trophy in their hands with a 7-6 win.
The Pacers had been making a habit so far this season of dropping close games but change that trend on national television despite again being grossly outscored in the 4th qtr they beat the defending champion Celtics 135-132 in overtime. Ben Mathurin led the Pacers with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton led with 12 dimes and Pascal Siakim chipped in with 29 points.
