With her family by her side, Judith (Werden) York, 72, passed away at her Washington residence during the afternoon of November 1, 2024. She was born in Washington on August, 17, 1952, the daughter of Norma Werden. On May 27, 1995, she married Tim York, and he survives.
Judith attended Washington Catholic High School. Prior to retirement, she was a manager at the Washington American Legion. Judith took great pride in decorating her home and enjoyed reading mysteries. She was strong in the Catholic faith.
Those who now cherish Judith’s memory include her husband of twenty-nine years, Timmy York; daughters: Angela (Jerry) Gottman of Washington; PJ (Nathan) Rawley of Washington; and Christina (Adam) Rockett of Bloomington. Judith was blessed with seven grandchildren: Ronald (May Zhu) Hamm; Brianna (Curt) Potts; Taylor (Cain Mandabach); William Joyce; Rylee Joyce; Ryker Rockett; and Reagan Rockett; and two great-grandchildren: Samuel Hamm and Eric Mandabach. Additionally, Judith leaves two brothers: John (Diane) Werden of Washington; Michael Werden of Scottsdale, Arizona; and a sister, Sarah Jane Ash of Washington.
During her lifetime, Judith mourned the loss of her mother, Norma Werden; and her brother, Patrick Werden.
A Celebration of Life for Judith York will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Washington Community Park Building, 4:00 – 8:00 pm.
