With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Devyn Joseph McGuire, a proud Marine who departed from this world on November 14, 2024. Devyn was born on July 20, 2001, in Jasper, IN, and is the son of Damien McGuire and Autumn Jones.
Earning his high school diploma from Washington High School in 2019, Devyn was a remarkable individual who found solace in the great outdoors. Whether kayaking down serene waters or honing his skills in shooting his guns, he cherished the simplicity and beauty found in nature. Above all, he treasured moments spent with his beloved family, especially his nieces, whom he adored and cherished dearly.
Devyn’s passion for food led him to become a true “foodie,” with a particular affection for homemade chicken pot pie and dirt pudding. His love of culinary delights was only matched by his love for napping, a pastime he embraced with zest and enthusiasm. Devyn also was an avid fan of gaming as he could be heard playing while those near him were trying to sleep. Closest to his heart was his loyal companion, Gremlin, his faithful dog and dearest friend.
Surviving Devyn are his parents, Damien McGuire and Autumn Jones (Josh); siblings, Denae Nichole Grannan (Kolbie), Ian Jones (Gracie), Halle Sue McGuire, Brenden Jones, Ashton Scott McGuire; girlfriend, Lexas Fehribach; nieces and nephews, Henleigh, Huntley and Haisley Riker, Hartlyn Staley, Kayson and Ivy Jones; maternal grandparents, Rhonda Chesnut and Chris Mehringer; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Jobe; uncles, Shawn McGuire(Kristen) and David Jobe; cousin, Kaitlyn Smith; and many special family and friends. Preceding Devyn in death is his grandfather, David Jobe and brother in law, Colton Riker.
In honor of Devyn’s life and spirit, visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State Street, Washington, Indiana.
