Carol Jane O’Brian, 89, of Montgomery, Indiana passed away at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 17th, 2024 at The Villages at Oak Ridge.
She was born August 17, 1935 in Washington, Indiana to the late Virgil and Nellie (Gaither) Barber.
Carol married James “Jim” O’Brian on December 31, 1954 and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2022.
Carol formerly was a part owner and bookkeeper of O’Brian Service Center in Montgomery. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim O’Brian; parents, Virgil and Nellie Barber; siblings, Howard Barber, Virginia Schuette, and Phyllis Donaldson; granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Kane.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Karen (Tom) Kane of Montgomery, Beth O’Brian of Washington, and Jennifer O’Brian of Montgomery; grandsons, Eric Kane and Jared (Bethany) Kane; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Kane, Kaleigh Kane, Grant Kane, and Lilly Kane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Stephen McGinnis at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St Peter Catholic Church.
