Mayor Dave Rhoads shared updates during a recent visit, focusing on the city’s packed holiday calendar and progress on projects. This Saturday, December 7, “Christmas on Main” will take place in downtown Washington with events starting at 10 a.m. Highlights include carriage rides, a vendor village, cookie decorating, live music, a free showing of The Grinch at the Indiana Theater, and visits with Santa after the 6 p.m. parade. The day will conclude with the annual tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. at the gazebo. “Christmas in the Park” events are set for December 5th and 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the community building at East Side Park. Families can enjoy carriage rides, light displays, and activities for kids. Mayor Rhoads also provided updates on the Business 50 project, which remains on track for completion by year-end. Crews are working diligently despite cold weather, with some sidewalk work likely to resume in warmer months. City offices will close on December 25-26 and January 1.
