The Baseball Hall of Fame will be inducting two new members, Dick Allen and Dave Parker. Parker spent 19 years in the league. He earned seven All-Star nods and won back-to-back NL batting titles in 1977 and 1978, which was the same year he was named NL MVP. He won two World Series titles throughout his career, too, first with the Pittsburgh Pirates and then again with the Oakland A’s. Allen retired following the 1977 season with a career .292 batting average with 351 homer runs.
Chris Paul passed Jason Kidd for second on the NBA’s all-time assist leaderboard (12,099) on Sunday. Only John Stockton (15,806) has more.
The Jets were eliminated from postseason contention on Sunday afternoon after their 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins. The Jets have missed the playoffs for a 14th straight season which is the longest active streak across the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL and MLB.
