On Wednesday, December 11, officers from the Washington Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 400 Hillcrest Avenue at approximately 2:53 p.m. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a 42-year-old male bleeding from the head. The incident was initially reported through multiple 911 calls, with a witness stating the victim was injured during an altercation. Emergency medical teams transported the victim to Daviess Community Hospital for treatment. Kyle Hovis, 24, was arrested in connection with the incident. He faces charges of aggravated battery, domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and battery resulting in serious bodily injury. The investigation involved multiple agencies and concluded with Hovis being booked at the security center later that evening. The case remains under investigation.
