dch-2-2

Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) will receive $29,740 from the United Way of Daviess County, part of a $44,600 matching grant awarded by Indiana United Ways. The funding, to be released in spring 2025, will support DCH’s Perinatal Pathways Program, which addresses infant mortality.

The grant will fund two key initiatives:

Support for Medicaid/ALICE Families: $14,870 to enhance prenatal care and education.

Genetic Testing for the Amish Community: $14,870 to expand genetic counseling and testing, increasing early detection of conditions.

Goals of the program include increasing early prenatal care participation by 15%, reducing preterm birth risks by 20%, and expanding genetic testing services to Amish families.

The remaining $14,860 will support organizational development and capacity building for the United Way of Daviess County. To contribute and help unlock the matching grant, donations can be sent to P.O. Box 224, Washington, IN 47501, made online at unitedwayofdaviesscounty.org/donate, or arranged by contacting the office at (812) 254-1038.
