The Elnora Town Council is urging residents to attend a public hearing on Monday, January 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Elnora Town Hall to discuss the town’s application for a $90,000 OCRA Planning Grant, which includes a $10,000 local match. The grant will fund the development of a master utility plan by F&V Engineering, essential for securing future construction grants. The plan will address critical needs in Elnora’s aging utility infrastructure, including stormwater, sanitary sewer, and domestic water systems. Without it, the town cannot pursue OCRA construction grants to improve these services. Following the hearing, an Indiana University professor will present student-designed concepts for town attractions and housing ideas, such as a farmer’s market and canal enhancements, at 7:00 p.m. Designs are on display at the town hall. Residents are encouraged to attend and share their input.
