The 47th Annual Jasper Strassenfest, set for July 31 – August 3, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sister Cities partnership between Jasper, Indiana, and Pfaffenweiler, Germany. This year’s theme, marking the milestone, will be featured on the official festival button. The Sister Cities connection began in 1985, uniting Jasper with its ancestral roots in Pfaffenweiler, where many Jasper settlers originated in 1846. This year, several Pfaffenweiler residents will travel to Jasper to participate in Strassenfest events. New Strassenfest Chairman Corie Eckerle will lead this year’s festival.
