Hoosiers Encouraged to Check for Lost Funds on National Unclaimed Property Day

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is urging residents to check for unclaimed property in honor of National Unclaimed Property Day on February 1. Hoosiers can visit IndianaUnclaimed.gov to see if they have unclaimed money or assets. Unclaimed property includes financial assets such as wages, money orders, refunds, and bank accounts that have gone unclaimed for an extended period. To prevent property from becoming unclaimed, officials recommend keeping records of bank accounts, utility deposits, and promptly cashing checks. For more information, visit IndianaUnclaimed.gov.
