Shane Edward Fields

Shane Edward Fields, age 44, died January 31, 2025 in Owensboro, KY in a tragic vehicle accident alongside his friend and coworker Jordan Dyer while on their way to work.

He was born December 28, 1980, the first born of Forrest “Butch” and Cherryl (Arney) Fields. Shane lived most all of his life in Washington, IN and attended Washington schools, earning his GED certificate in 1999 and afterwards attending Vincennes University.

He worked as a skilled laborer in carpentry, maintenance and as a heavy machine operator, most recently with R&S Excavating.

Shane enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery and the outdoors. He loved to spend time with friends playing pool and playing cards. Grilling was his passion, as was gathering to share a good meal with family and friends.

Family left to cherish the memories of Shane include: his wife Bre (Reel) Fields of Washington, daughters Hailey (Fields) Daniels of Vincennes (James), Paige Fields (fiancé’ Jonathan Early) of Vincennes, Ryann Fields of Vincennes, Paisley Shoulders and River Ballew of Washington, son Landon Patterson of Washington, grandchildren Ava Fields, Laynee Daniels, Meela Daniels and Forrest Blake Daniels, his mother Cherryl Fields of Washington, brother Brandon Fields of Colorado and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Forrest Fields and his grandparents Carl and Betty Fields and Frank and Mary Arney.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State Street Washington, IN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 also at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
