Knox County Man Arrested for Cutting Fiber Optic Wire, Drug Possession

A Knox County man was arrested Monday afternoon after deputies caught him in the act of cutting fiber optic wire near a communications tower. Around 2:30 PM on February 11, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 9251 E SR 61. Upon arrival, they found 57-year-old Brian Pinkstaff actively cutting the wire. He was taken into custody and found to have illegal drugs in his pocket. Pinkstaff was transported to the Knox County Jail and booked on multiple charges, including:

Possession of methamphetamine (Level 6 felony)

Theft (Level 6 felony)

Possession of cocaine (Level 6 felony)

Criminal mischief (Level 6 felony)

He remains in jail on a $5,000 bond.
