After his honorable service, Joe found the love of his life and married Sheila “Preston” Heffernan on June 19, 1971. Their union was a testament to devotion and mutual respect, laying the foundation for a loving family. Joe’s career as a truck driver with Boyd and Sons Trucking showcased his unwavering work ethic until his well-deserved retirement.
Joe’s laughter and dynamic spirit filled the room, and his passion for life was evident in his love for football and racing. The Indy 500 was a favorite event, and his membership in the VFW, American Legion, and St. Peter’s Catholic Church illustrated his commitment to community and fellowship.
