An Evansville couple was arrested Wednesday night following a traffic stop on I-69 near the SR 168 exit in Gibson County. Indiana State Police stopped a Chevrolet Impala for missing a front bumper and a defective taillight. During the stop, Trooper Hurley detected the odor of burnt cannabis and saw a smoking device with suspected marijuana on the center console. The driver, 21-year-old Trinity Duncan, showed signs of impairment, while her boyfriend, 23-year-old Christopher Conlee, was in the passenger seat. Two small children were in the back, near a loaded pistol with a 30-round magazine. Duncan was found to be intoxicated, and both parents were arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail. The Indiana Department of Child Services took custody of the children. Duncan faces felony charges of operating while intoxicated with a minor passenger and neglect of a dependent, along with misdemeanor drug charges. Conlee was also charged with neglect and drug possession. Toxicology results are pending
