Community leaders and special guests were treated to a tour yesterday of the DSI campus as part of Disability Awareness Month. The crew learned about the many services provided by DSI, including the First Steps Program, Adult Day Services, and so much more. DSI unveiled the plans for a new hospitality training center at the site that will begin construction next month. Consumers at DSI and the general public can utilize this new facility for training in the kitchen, laundry, cooking, and so much more. The new addition is made possible through a grant from United Way with a match from Economic Development. Ground was also broken for the new accessible community garden project with DSI and Little Warrior Wishes. Around 30 people were on hand for the tour yesterday. The DSI Campus is at 2212 East National Hwy behind Tractor Supply in Washington.
