Congratulations to Barr Reeve’s Albert Kavanaugh who has been selected to the HBCA Hall of Excellence.
Albert was one of three inductees this year along with Terre Haute Tribune Star sports writer Andy Amey and Scottsburg’s retired Hall of Fame coach Donna Cheatham.
The Hall of Excellence is highest level of recognition from the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Assocciation and is selected by the HBCA’s board of directors. Inductees are selected based on their overall impact and desire to promote basketball in southern Indiana.

The NBA Play-In Tournament is a mini-tournament held after the regular season to determine the final two playoff seeds in each conference (7th and 8th). Teams finishing 7th-10th in each conference participate, with the 7th and 8th seed playing each other, and the winner securing the 7th seed. The loser of that game then plays the winner of the 9th and 10th seed game to decide the 8th seed.
