The Bennington Levee has been officially recertified by the Army Corp of Engineers. The levee built to protect farms at the Knox Daviess County line from the West Fork of the White River breeched in 2012 putting over three thousand acres under water.
Mike Sprinkle, President of the Bennington Levee Committee and President of the County Council told the Washington Times Herald that the levee is back in active status.
