Edgewood woman apparently swam where swimming was prohibited…
Authorities say a 32-year-old woman died after disappearing below the water while swimming at western Indiana’s Cataract Falls State Recreation Area.
A statement from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources says Autumn McCreery of Edgewood was swimming Monday afternoon when witnesses saw her go under.
The statement says state conservation officers responded and recovered McCreery at 3:43 p.m. CPR was performed but she was pronounced dead.
An investigation is ongoing, but no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The statement says signs prohibiting swimming are posted in the area where the incident took place.
The recreation area is about 45 miles southwest of Indianapolis.
