Claud Alsman Jr. 88 of Washington went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
Claud was born in Daviess County to the late Claud Alsman Sr. and Corine (Southerland) Alsman. He was a 1946 graduate of Wheatland High School. Claud was a member of the Kiwana’s Club and a member of Bethany Church. He worked as a top auto sales representative for Ward and Hudson Ford for 32 years. Claud was a faithful man of God and served the Lord in many ways; he was a Deacon, Elder, Song Leader, and started the young adult Sunday School Class called the Paris and Spares in 1970. Claud had a sense of humor that was enjoyed by all.
Claud married Doris Mae Gilboux on April 11, 1948. They had 6 children that were the loves of his life. Five daughters, Connie Baker (Dennis), Claudia Dant (Pat), Marla Clemens (Andy), Pamela Krueger, Shellie Hill (Darren); one son, Daniel W. Alsman (Cindy). 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Freddie G. Alsman, and a sister Barbara Alsman who preceded him.
Claud was married to Ruth Britton Alsman on September 25, 1993 and had 2 step-children, Nona Osha (Michael) and Britt Franklin (Tammy); and several step-grandchildren.
Claud was a devoted father, a faithful husband, and a friend to all who knew him.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 10 until 12 at Gill Funeral Home 308 E. Walnut St. Washington, IN 47501 with a service immediately following at 12 conducted by Pastor Matt Merold and Tom Watson. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. www.gillsince1872.com
