Shirley McCafferty, 77, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hillside Manor.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1938, in Washington, to Cullie and Ruth (Downey) Gress.
She was retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, had owned and operated Shirley’s Pet Place, and had been a dog groomer for several years. She sold over 10,000 items on Ebay. She was a past member of the Eagles and Ladies of the Moose.
She is survived by four sons, Cullie Brumett of Port Richie, Florida, Brian (Thelma) Brumett, Tony (Amy) Brumett and DJ Brumett, all of Washington; one brother, David (Pat) Gress of Portsmouth, New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry “Chick” McCafferty, and her parents.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary, with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
