The new cross dock on the east side of Washington is officially open.
State and local officials appeared at the ribbon cutting where Washington Mayor Joe Wellman was quoted by the Washington Times Herald (Washington Times Herald ) as saying the rail cross facility means growth and jobs. He said it’s the first of what many are sure will be many more future projects, employers and expansion of existing employment. He added there are already existing companies here wanting to use the rail siding to load product out and get raw materials in.
The newspaper said the rail cross dock is part of a larger $10 million project that included expanded infrastructure and a new steel shell building and was a contributing factor in attracting M& C Tech to Washington.
