The Washington Community School approved several resolutions Wednesday night concerning the selling of bonds and the borrowing over 1.5 million dollars to be used mainly to replace school buses.
School Superintendent Dr. Dan Roach says the corporation currently outsources most of the bus routes. He says vendors are opting to retire and so the only option he says is to buy buses…
Roach says they hope to buy 12 used buses. If funding and pricing works out they may buy some spares.
The 1.5 million will be paid out of debt service and paid out over six years and will not increase the tax rate.
There was no public comment at the 1028 public hearing as the financing was explained by Umbaugh and Associates Financial Consultants. The bonds will be sold in early December with a closing date of December 22nd.
