Fred A. Dupps, 68, of Loogootee, passed away at 11:37 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
He was born November 17, 1948 in Jasper, Indiana to the late Leo and Dora (Schroeder) Dupps.
Fred was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and also attended Truelove United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and The Moose Lodge. Fred was a former Loogootee City Council member and was active in the Martin County Democrats. He previously worked for Jofco and Kimball Office Furniture in Jasper and was currently employed by SAIC.
He loved his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong Waylon Jennings fan. He attended 45 of his concerts and had an extensive collection of Waylon Jennings music. He enjoyed reading, listening to music and Saturday night dances.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Dora (Schroeder) Dupps and sister, Shirley (Gary) Jahn.
He is survived by his wife, Bev Dupps of Loogootee; daughter, Heather (Todd) Arvin; step-children, Brigham Osborne of Jasper and Candida Osborne of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Brayton and Ally Arvin; siblings, Kenny (Ruth) Dupps, Alice (Doug) Lukemeyer, Larry Dupps and Janet (Gene) Hurm; several nieces and nephews; special cat, Fiona.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Truelove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Truelove United Methodist Church.
