Indiana State Police say a Huntingburg man died in a vehicle verses scooter accident last night in Dubois County. It happened at 10:20-pm as 48-year-old Joseph Allen was south on 231 in Jasper on the scooter approaching 12th Avenue. For an unknown reason, he was rear ended by a 2000 Dodge Caravan driven by Dawn Julian of Huntingburg. The scooter became partially lodged under the minivan and Allen was ejected onto the van then onto the road. Life-Light Helicopter took Allen to St. Mary’s in Evansville where he died from injuries. Julian was injured and treated at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. The crash remains under investigation.
