Rosemary B. Young, 83, of Vincennes, passed away July 14, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Rosemary was a graduate of Hopkinsville Community College, and had worked as a counselor with troubled youth. She was an Army veteran. With her husband, Ned, a career Marine, she and their family travelled throughout the world with his deployments.
Born June 13, 1934, in Vincennes, Rosemary was the daughter of Samuel J. and Mae Elizabeth (Fidler) Boyd. Her parents; her husband, Melvin “Ned” Young; her sons, David Joseph Young and Steven Bateman; her brother, Samuel Boyd; her sister, Alice Helton; and 3 infant siblings preceded her.
Surviving are her children, Dan Young and his wife, Janet, of Vincennes, Debbie Meyer and her husband, Lee, of Vincennes, and Charles Eads and his wife, Kathie, of Avon, IN; a daughter-in-law, Josie Young of Vincennes; a brother, Jim Boyd and his wife, Bonnie, of Vincennes; sisters, Linda Douglas and her husband, Mike, of Port Neches, TX, Cheryl Armes and her husband, Mike, of Anderson, IN and Kathy Gregory and her husband, John, of Montgomery TX; grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Young, Derek Wisby, Stephen Eads, Rachel Eads – Terry, Katherine Rose Meyer, and Gracie Meyer; and her great-grandchildren, Mariah Terry, Jon Terry, Gabe Eads, and Grace Eads.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 – 4:00 at the Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home on Wednesday. Her funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jim Evans, will begin at 4:00 at the funeral home.
