Robert “Ed” Colvin, 81, of Loogootee, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 at Loogootee Nursing Center.
He was born March 1, 1936 in Jasper, Indiana to the late Louis and Beulah (Craney) Colvin.
Ed was a United States Army veteran. He retired from NSWC Crane after 31 years of employment. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 120. He loved word searches, cross word puzzles and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Holland) Colvin; parents, Louis and Beulah (Craney) Colvin; brothers, Richard Colvin, Billy Colvin and Gerald Colvin.
Ed is survived by his children, Lesa (Jeff) Stivers of Loogootee, Theresa (Scott) Edwards of Plainville, Jeff Colvin of Terre Haute and Sheila (Tom) Hudson of Loogootee; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Leona Mathias; sisters-in-law, Helen Colvin and Mary Lou Sims and special friend, Ruth Ann Allen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James E. Koressel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake & Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
