This first weekend of August is full of festivals.
Odon Old Settlers Days is in its final day today with free kids games starting at 1 at Odon Park. A cruise in and car show is at 2. Baby Show registration is at 5:30 with the show set for 6:30. The rides start at 6. The free entertainment on stage tonight is live music from area favorite, Kirby Stailey.
The Jasper Strassenfest has lots of activity again today in downtown Jasper. Check out the long list at jasper-strassenfest-dot-org.
At the Knox County Watermelon Festival see the baby and toddler show at 10 this morning. Heath Eric and Molly G are on stage 1 to 3. The Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest starts at 3. The cutest pet contest is at 4 and at 6 it’s the Miss Watermelon Pageant. Farbest has it’s annual BBQ Gill Off going on all day long. Lots of food and crafts and rides for the kids are also part of the fun all day. It’s all at Patrick Henry Square in Vincennes.
Down in Southern Pike County at the Pike/Dubois County line on Old Old State Road 64 it’s the annual Zoar Mosquito Fest in the community known as Zoar next to the United Methodist Church. There’s a country store, a flea market, games, demonstrations and more today and tomorrow. Head down State Road 257 to Stendal then turn east to get there
