Dorothy Louise Lukomski, 87, of Loogootee, passed away surrounded by her family at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at The Villages of Oak Ridge.
She was born September 24, 1929 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Otis and Attie (McBride) Bledsoe.
She lived her entire life in Loogootee, graduated from Loogootee High School and retired from NWSC Crane.
Dorothy married Joseph Lukomski Sr. on April 7, 1950 after meeting while in the Army and stationed at Ft. Sam Houston in Texas. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, Earl (Autumn) Jones, Murl (Olive) Jones and Olen (Dot) Jones; 3 sisters, Mary Francis (Art) Williams, Alberta (Roy) Yarbrough and Edith (Oather) Wagner.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Joseph (Marsha) Lukomski of Loogootee and daughter, Nancy (Gary) Sharp of Ashville, Ohio; two grandsons, Joseph Wayne (Mendy) Lukomski of Fishers and Timothy James (Cori) Lukomski of Loogootee; one granddaughter, Kelli Lynn (Lance) Mathies of Loogootee; six great-grandchildren, Madeline Grace Lukomski and Samuel Joseph Lukomski, both of Fishers, Lilian Rose Lukomski, Josie Lynn Mathies, Mason Robert Mathies and Garrett Eugene Mathies, all of Loogootee.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Heart to Heart Hospice.
