The Barr Reeve School Board has agreed to a two year contract with teachers which was ratified by the Teachers Association earlier this week.
The Washington Times Herald reports, the agreement centers on what officials call a pay model based on longevity. The model ranges from $37,000 to $65,500 with 19 steps in between. . Teachers at the top of the pay scale and administrators except for the Superintendent will get an addition $1,000 to the base with annual stipends of $1500 for the next two years.
The board also set the salaries for non certified staff. There’ll be a 3 percent increase, about the same as the teachers
The newspaper quotes school officials saying the raises come following a state budget that put a little extra money into the Barr-Reeve general fund and a growing enrollment that is also improving the school’s cash situation.
