Ben Osborn, 88, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 20, 1929 in Daviess County, Indiana to Orin and Fonnie (Asdell) Osborn. He married his loving wife, Marian J. (Strange) Osborn on May 8, 1953.
Ben was a US Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Odon First Christian Church and the White River Valley Antiques Association. Ben and Marian were passionate farmers and he was the CEO of Just-A-Mere Farms. They enjoyed square dancing, traveling, driving his covered wagon and his stage coach.
Survivors include: his wife, Marian Osborn; two daughters, Lynna (Dr. Steve) Lynn of Martinsville and Jeanna (Gary) Burkhart of Elnora; grandchildren, Dr. Bryce Lynn and fiance’, Betsy, Brittany Lynn, Kasey (Joel) Oliver and Kensay (Doug) Mott; four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Drake, Kamden and Reece.
Ben was preceded in death: his parents; his son, Brad Osborn; a brother, Bob Osborn; two sisters, Beverley Donahue and Donna Senour.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Dennis McDannald and Bryan Engleman officiating. Ben will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, following military graveside rites.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 23 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
