Indiana has its first official candidate for the senate seat that will be left open by Sen. Dan Coats in 2016. Former Coats Adviser and Indiana Republican Party Chairman Eric Holcomb made his announcement on Thursday.
He says his focus will be on things like keeping America safe, making America a global jobs magnet, and engaging the next generation of leaders. For the time being, at least, he is sticking to his campaign and did not answer any questions regarding specific state issues
Holcomb says he doesn’t expect an endorsement from Coats, because Coats has a practice of not endorsing candidates in the primary..
