Michael Joe Breeden, 64, of Loogootee, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 while doing what he enjoyed as much as his family, hunting.
He was born May 16, 1953 in Bloomington, Indiana to William Joe Breeden and the late Wilma (Abram) Breeden.
Mike married Bobbi (Summers) Breeden June 14, 1986.
He retired from Duke Energy in May 2012 after 39 years of faithful employment. In 2013 he started working part time for PCA, a contractor for Duke Energy.
Mike was a member for 39 years with the IBEW Local 1393, Sons of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
He was an outdoorsman in every sense. He loved hunting and hunted whatever was in season.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma (Abram) Breeden and brother, Christopher Breeden, who passed away as a child.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bobbi (Summers) Breeden, of Loogootee; sons, Jay (Leila) Breeden of Martinsville and Will Breeden of Loogootee; grandchildren, Trinity McNeely, Maddox and Ryker Breeden; father, William Joe Breeden of Solsberry; siblings, Steve (Jeanne) Breeden of Eminence, Billy (Kathy) Breeden of Bloomington, and Lisa (Tom) Stevens of Ellettsville; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
