Lisa Ann (Lannan) Lee

Lisa Ann (Lannan) Lee, 56, of Washington, passed away in her home Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at 7:15 p.m. She was born March 16, 1961, to Daniel and Alice (Devine) Lannan in Washington, Indiana. Lisa graduated from Washington High School in 1979, and graduated from Vincennes University with an associate’s degree in abstracting in 1981. She married Rory D. Lee on July 5, 1986, in St. Simon’s Church. Lisa was very active in the community with the county youth. She coached soccer, t-ball, and swimming with the children of our community from the age of 19.

Rory and Lisa moved to Winter Park, Florida, in October 1986. They were blessed with two daughters, Brogan and Madison. Though she was born with the genetic disease cystic fibrosis, she was able to maintain her illness and lead a very active lifestyle and continue coaching. Lisa and her family moved back to Washington in 2001, where she again continued to coach. On April 26, 2011, Lisa was blessed with two donor lungs due to her declining health from cystic fibrosis. She was one of the strongest transplant patients to walk out the doors of Indiana University’s Hospital three weeks after transplant at the age of 50. She celebrated her life with new lungs, again jumping back into coaching soccer. Cancer began to take its toll on Lisa two years after transplant due to her rejection medicines. Lisa’s immunosuppression allowed cancer to ultimately take her life. Lisa was known as a fighter, living long past what the medical community expected.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Rory D. Lee; her two daughters, Brogan A. Lee and Madison S. Lee, both of Washington; her English bulldog, Willow; her sister, Lori (Scott) Chattin of Washington; and brother Daniel (Laura) Lannan Jr. of Hagerstown, Indiana; her niece, Misty (Tony) Goble, their children Alice and Hudson; niece Abby (Jay) Hale, their children Jaxon, Jonah and Jace; and nephew Trent (Paige) Chattin. Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Alice (Devine) Lannan; her brother-in-law, Jeffrey D. Lee; and one great-nephew, Gavin, born to Tony and Misty (Chattin) Goble.
