Joseph Strange

Joseph Strange, 73, of Odon, passed away at 6:08 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center.

He was born July 7, 1944 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Paul and Mary (Bradley) Strange.

Joseph served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. He was deployed to Germany during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by General Motors for 34 years. While working for General Motors he spent 30 years in LaGrange, Illinois and then the last 4 years in Bedford, Indiana.

Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Martin Catholic Church. He enjoyed wood working, general house repairs, working on cars and had many other hobbies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary (Bradley) Strange; siblings, Maggie (Adrian) Arvin, Betty (Larry) Souerdike, Alberta (Leo) Healy, Cleo Merritt, Carol (Jerry) Ash and two infant siblings.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan (Driebergen) Strange, of Odon; siblings, Paul Leo Strange and Linda Hunter, both of Loogootee; 25 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for masses.
